The figure below shows the cost of producing 1 Kw to heat the house:


The heat pump is the most economical system for residential heating. It is about 3-4 times cheaper than the boiler.


Heat pumps are machines that "draw" heat (in the form of heating or cooling) of a heat sink (ambient air, reservoir water, groundwater, lake, etc.) to one place through a cycle of evaporation and condensation of a working fluid, the consumption of electricity.

The efficiency of a heat pump (Coefficient of Performance) is given by the following formula:

  COP = output of heat or cooling/ consumed electricity

This means that an air pump - water COP = 3, for each kWh of electricity consumed, yields 3 kWh thermal energy. Especially if the system is working several hours with the night tariff costs drop significantly, while great savings can be achieved if the pump combined with underfloor heating instead of radiators.



These kinds of lamps are divided based on economy with operating costs, like the common incandescent lamps economy lamps, LEDs emitting bulb or LED. The comparison between said lamps is as follows:


Therefore, LED bulbs are 9 times more economical than ordinary incandescent bulbs.

It consists of a simple positive and negative charges. when current flows from the anode to the cathode, it is this way constructed that during this process, it emits a continuous light at a wavelength. 

Thus, depending on the construction of and the wavelength to be emitted, and have different colors (i.e. different wavelengths), white, red, green, blue ...


Energy Savings

Unfortunately, in Greece when it comes to energy saving we have not yet faced it with the required seriousness. Saving energy is the cheapest and most effective way to achieve specific targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The rational use of energy enables us to save energy in all sectors without necessarily reduce living standards in our buildings. Taking advantage of new systems, technologies and materials and especially renewables (such as the sun, wind, geothermal and biomass) can achieve two goals and decrease the consumption of fossil fuels and protect the environment.

This effort has begun and we are all concerned because we have significant benefits at each level, economic, and environmental koinniko and can thus contribute to achieving these objectives

The benefits can be gained from a rational use of energy from domestic buildings is a lot like:

  • Reducing energy consumption for heating, cooling, lighting and general household appliances
  • Money Saving
  • Proper use of natural resources
  • Marked reduction of environmental pollution and protection of the planet

Some useful, efficient and simple to carry information:

  • For heating on sunny winter days prefer to warm your spaces from the sun and not the radiators, do not cover the radiators with various toppings 
  • Prefer to maintain your boiler annualy
  • For air-conditioning paint the exterior walls with light colors, the evenings leave the windows open to circulate the cool air spaces, avoid unnecessary opening of windows / doors in order to keep the space cool.

Some information more difficult to implement:

  • The windows must be well insulated and double
  • Very good insulation in your building materials (concrete, brick) as a contribution to the least possible loss of energy either for heating or air conditioning
  • Using intelligent electronic machines (SIEMENS) save you money and energy such as compensation, control thermostats with PID check

  1. Compensation controller for controlling the heating system to the outside temperature sensor inside the thermostat, ensures up to 30% energy savings
  2. Electronic differential temperature controllers for the best possible control of solar to operate the circuit hot water from the solar field
  3. Digital Wall thermostat with schedule and to self-control algorithm (PID control) ensures the constant temperature of the room
  4. Controllers for specific test cases that combine multiple circuits into a complete system
  5. Control and monitoring system with the help of a GUI program.
